I am having a very similar issue. I am running my logitech mouse through an IO Gear 4 Port DVI KVM switch. Quite often the light on my mouse goes out, I lose the cursor, and then 10 seconds or so alter the mouse lights backup, Windows 7 beeps like a new usb device has been plugged in, and I can use the mouse. But the same thing keeps happening.

I plugged the mouse directly into the computer and for 2 days didnt get the issue. So I have to assume it is the KVM.

Has anyone fixed issues when running a mouse throug a KVM?

    Mouse Freeze and Tada Sound

I have been getting the mouse freeze and when it unsticks I get the tada sound. I noticed that in my Internet History folder under MyComputer a bunch of temp files are being created too. I have ran several full scans with Trend Micro, nothing helps. A few times it quites the problem for a few minutes and in time the whole computer freezes. I seems like a virus to me.

To add to the mix of problems and solutions, I just found out that it was my mouse that was causing the problem. I bought a new mouse (USB optical, cheapest available) and the problem completely went away. :)

I'm having the same issue with mouse freezing. What I noticed is when mouse go freeze, i feel a small electrical shock from mouse wheel to my finger (this happen with only one mouse, and I used 3 different mouses, and all of them get freezed randomly) and immediately after shock mouse get freezed with the sound, 1-2 sec mouse don't move, and mouse get back ...
Now I trying PC with new simple mouse (Logitech M90) and it's NOT FREEZING for 2 days!!! The only difference between mouses I try is this new mouse DON'T HAVE A DPI CHANGE BUTTON on it... Maybe DPI button on a mouse is a problem????
