    "Operating System Not Found" Error - Windows 7 (x64 bit) 4GB Memory



    My laptop is a SONY VAIO - VGN-NS255D

    Anyone know how to fix this?

    Did you make /have the OEM manufacturers system repair disk ?

    No, but a Windows 7 Home Premium installation disk. Would that help?

    Could be a MBR problem which you might be able to fix with the bootabls CD of Partition Wizard: Free Partition Magic alternative. Free Partition Manager Software for Windows 7/VISTA/XP/2000 and Windows Server 2003/2008/2000.

    Try Startup Repair and see if the repair mechanism finds the OS . If finds, run it at least three times, with restarts after every single run .

    If at least three attempts of startup repair fails to recover it, let us know the situation.
