I need help formatting a used ps3 hard drive for Win7..... by USB

I can populate the dive in device mgr, but I cant get a format command anywhere... How can I reformat it so that I can use it as an external storage drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

does the drive have a drive letter?

my guess is you need to assign it a drive letter so it will mount.

I'm not entirely certain what step you are at in the process now though.

Can you see the drive in Disk Management?
    If so, post a screenshot.

If there's nothing to save on the disk, and partitioning app, like Partition Wizard should be able to blank the drive. Then, Disk management will let you format it for use with Windows.
