Conflict between LAN adapter and new TV tuner card

Help! I installed a new ATI Diamond "ATI Wonder HD750 PCIe" TV tuner card in my 8-month-old PC. It fits in the PCI-express x1 slot. I installed it, powered up, booted and loaded the driver. But, the LAN icon near the clock showed a yellow triangle with an "!" in it. Device Manager showed no IRQ conflict (hmmm), but the TV card is clearly disabling it. If I remove the TV card and reboot, the LAN works fine. The Diamond software update didn't help. I contacted ATI Diamond and they were stumped. I exchanged the TV card for another of same model, and problem persisted.

Next, I contacted Asus, the motherboard mfr., and they had me update the BIOS and the LAN driver. The LAN update worked! I was watching TV! But, when I shut down normally and rebooted, the problem came back. Reinstalling the LAN adapter, which worked before, now just locks the machine. It seems the LAN adapter software is still current, just conflicted.

Asus said I should try another brand of TV tuner card. If this works, the ATI Diamond unit is incompatible. If not, I may need a new motherboard (dangit!).

I also tried using the next longer PCI-express x4 slot. The LAN worked but the TV tuner card wasn't found by the TV software.

I'd really appreciate any advice, as I like the card and motherboard I have. It seems no one else has this issue when I Googled it.

This is very weird, indeed. You've done some good troubleshooting steps so far. What LAN adapter software are you referring to here? You have onboard LAN, which shouldn't require any added software, unless you are referring to the LAN driver. Are you downloading the latest Realtek driver from the Asus website? And, are you also downloading the latest drivers from the ATI website or are you using Windows Update to install the drivers?

Just went and bought a Hauppauge TV card (at twice the cost) for the same slot. Now everything woprks fine with no conflicts. The 2 ATI Diamond cards I had must've been incompatible. Boooooo! Several hours of wasted time.
