Windows 7: check disk was performing next thing I see: no drive detected error

Here is my story:

My dead laptop is dell inspiron 6400 2 gb 120 gb sata 1.5gb hard disk speed ntfs(?) windows xp media edition laptop.
it was so slow for last 2 weeks. turning on especially takes 20 min. Around this times blue failure screens started to show up ( bad sign ) I was busy did not care.
at the same time 2 windows update files were consistently failing to update. after 5 more new windows update files updated, some blue failure screen showed up again but this time scheduled a check disk for me for next start up. I was happy that check disk will fix whatever there fails. check disk was good for stage 1-2-3-4-5 .. beginning of stage 5 I slept. morning there was no power on laptop. I thought it would be automatically turned off and I turned it on.
0141 error code 2000-0141 no drive detected. DST short test failed. I googled and first tried to unplug and replug hd. same message.

I assumed hard disk is dead. google asked me to try it with another pc as a slave. it was windows xp sp3 ntfs only c: desk top with sata hd.
Bios saw bad laptop hd after many attempts cause I am not good at these things. Even hd was slave I never managed to see windows running when this hd is plugged on that desktop. when I unplugged bad hd windows started at desk top. Then I tried windows system cd with only bad hard drive. windows replied that there is no hard drive.

anyway I kept on going and google showed me 2.5 sata external case this time and I tried to save my data at least.
I plugged it to windows 7 starter netbook with external usb. I tried to defrag but netbook does not see hd. disk management shows this information:



disk 1 basic 110.38 gb online (total 4 parts):

47 mb healthy oem partition
D:105.68 gb raw healthy active primary partition
unallocated 8 mb
4.64 gb healtyh primary partition

is there hope to use my hd again with my laptop ? if not is there hope to save my pictures at least ?

I am sure you posted solution before but I am reading for many hours but could not figure it out
