    Devices and Printers Icons

As you can see fromt he attachments. The icon for the webcam, monitor, Keyboard use to look like the real thing. now it shows some generic icons, how can I change it or restore it back to the better icons?

Also you can see I have two mice and keyboards showing up. This only happened when I installed the Logitech G15 keyboard software. Is is ok to leave them? I deleted them once and when I reboot they come back.

    Hello Customprofile

Those enhanced icons are usually downloaded by windows if you have it set to do so - Device Installation Settings
Its fine to leave the other icons, its just to show you have 2 different keyboards installed.

Thank you for the reply. The webcam showed the better icon untill about a week or two ago. I have it set like you provided in the link(thank you). Just makes me wonder if I did something or and update changed something.

As for the keyboard/mouse I only have one of each installed. Like I stated it showed one of each installed untill I installed the Logitech drivers. So kindof makes me thing the drivers are doing it, maybe?

I suspect that's why there are two then 1 with the default windows update drivers which would have automatically installed when you connected the devices (as you have it set to do so) and 1 with the logitech drivers. It will see them as different devices.

If it bothers you, you could try uninstalling them totally and just install the logitech ones after temporally changing the settings to never install driver software from windows update. See if that does it.
The icons are downloaded via windows update so try running that afterwards see if it picks up the enhanced icons for you.

You could try this - Icon Cache - Rebuild but im not sure it includes those icons but worth a shot.

You can manually change the icons but it requires some system file alterations. They are in the DDORes.dll in both C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64 for 64-bit

Bongo has some good help posted in this thread - How to change icon in devices and printers
