CPU temp question. just wanted a little verification on cut out temps as well as comparing to my previous chip.
my current processor is AMD Athlon II X2 250 3Ghz chip and l wondered where the points l should start to worry bout temp were. generally l am around 27C which is pretty good however as the weather warms lm sure this will change.. so curiously l would like to know when l should start to get before l start worrying about heat as lve noticed that some say around 60C where as the old socket a's lve seen were around 80C.
what l am saying is what is the temp l should start worrying at.. would 50/55C be when l should contemplate hanging heat compound to something other than the pre-applied pad l had with my heatsink? and l am curious as to what my CPUs damage temp is as l didnt see it noted on my package and a general range that would be considered quite reasonable temps to be within, l did ask support as l purchased everything recently but they only seem to be interested in offering advice for products that l intend to purchase. | My System Specs |

Anything below 70C is safe. AMDs have a habit of running even warmer. I would not worry about it unless you get above 80C on heavy load. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

so far l havent gone above 27c (at least in winter temps) tho today has been very unseasonably warm temps reached like 32c so l think my airflow has been set up much better than before however l was curious about the temps since l never received much info with my cpu even tho it was a retail boxed one. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom build OS Windows 7 Professional (64bit) CPU Athlon II X2 250 Motherboard Asus M5A78L-M LX Memory Kingston 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz i5 Memory Kit Non-ECC CL9 Graphics Card Radeon 3000 (on board) Sound Card External Creative Soundblaster Monitor(s) Displays 32" TV Screen Resolution 1360*768 <= well it should be but its being annoying Keyboard Microsoft Curve 2000 v1 Mouse Microsoft Sidewinder PSU Antec TruePower New 650W Modular PSU Case Coolermaster Elite 430 Cooling 5x 120mil 1x 90mil (Arctic freezer pro 7 rev 2 heatsink) Hard Drives 1 OCZ 60GB Agility 3 SSD

If the CPU temp is lower than the ambient temp, then the measurement program does not pick it up correctly. That is often the case with AMD processors which seem to set the indicators differently than Intels. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 CPU temp question. problems?
