Computer can see USB connected drive, but can't access files
Have a computer running XP with external disk drive connected through USB cable. Computer became infected with boot.tidserv virus which has been removed. Although the virus has been cleaned, the computer can detect the drive but can't see the fiels on the USB drive.
Moved the USB drive to second uninfected computer running Win 7. The Win 7 computer can see the external drive, but it appears that theres are no files on it. However, when I run virus scan on the connected drive, it appears to be scanning the files that are supposed to be there.
I assume the malware infection disabled the USB drives mapping of its files. Is there any tool I can use to re-establish this capabilty?
