    dvd/cd burner drive failure

so im getting this message from my dvd/cd burner in device manager:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

the name of the drive in device manager is very odd as well.
also, manufacturer reads (Standard CD-ROM drives)

wondering if i need to get a new driver but not sure what to look for.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

Can you go iinto device manager (type devicemanager in search) and look at your dvd player to make sure it is installed and working properly.

If it isn't please make a screenshot using snipping tool and upload it for us to look at

    Did you make any changes?
Try a system restore to a time when you know it worked.
Although code 10 indicates a missing driver it my also be a bad DVD drive.
