USB Keyboards not initializing at Windows Start up.

Hi, I have an ASUS Rampage II Extreme MOBO, with the lates BIOS update (ver. 2101). When I boot the Comp, I can get into BIOS and what not with keyboard (logitech G-15-original one). Problem starts when I log on to Windows. It takes over 1 minute for me to start typing or even being able to use my keyboard. I have tried other ports, still the same. I have tried other keyboards, still the same. The only one that I am able to use it a PS/2 style keyboard. All my other USB Devices seem to start up and run ok, it's only the keyboard. Also, I have tried other USB ports on PC as well.

I called ASUS, they were ready to RMA the MOBO for me, which I bought back in 2009!!! Then he said it could be a Microsoft issue..

Any ideas??

This all started when I switched to 2x120 SSD's in a RAID 0 Configuration, but was probably like this and didn't notice because I had to wait 3-5 minutes for the computer to start up. My computer will boot up and I can get on the web in about 15 seconds now, but can't use the keyboard.......

I'm wondering if Windows pushed through some crappy update too.

I've got an Abit Ip35 Pro. I have to initially boot up with a PS2 to get into Bios to enable USB keyboard on boot (dumb, hard to find a ps2 these days). Lately I've had some major issues with HD's dropping out and not being detected at all. And nobody seems to have an answer.

But on top of that, even after I have now set my Bios to use USB at boot, I still have to go into BIOS with a ps2. I never had this problem in 3 years. Now I reset CMOS and it won't go away.

Sorry to just add a problem and be of no help, I just wanted to document that something might be wrong with Microsoft.

No worries here. Maybe we can find a common issue/fix here. The HDD's you're having a problem getting recognized, is it an external Western Digital?

If you power down and disconnect the second ssd and power back up how does the keyboard work? Have you cleaned out old driver and installed update drive for the keyboard you are using now. After trying all those keyboard you could have a bunch of drivers for various keyboards and Windows is searching through them to find the one you need now.

I found the problem! It was my Logitech G-13 game pad. Both my G-13 and my G-15 were fighting each other at itstart up and the G-13 kept on winning. Now its the opposite. I can live with it this was, for now.. I uninstalled every USB device and plugged them in one at a time, restarting every time.

Now, let's try to help Baddcog.....I'm on my train right now, but will be home the next 2 days.. I'll try to help you then Baddcog....
