TV Card

just purchased a new toshiba laptop and was wondering if anyone could recommend a tv tuner (usb) that would work in vista 64 and win 7 64 and media center
replacing my desk top with laptop.

I use a Videomate U100 USB tuner. It's only a single tuner, but I don't watch a lot of FTA TV or record anything, so it's perfect for me.

It works well with both Vista and Seven, has good image quality and channel change speed. The supplied remote works with media Centre.

It's surprising what these cheap ones can do. I only picked up mine on a whim and didn't expect much from it, but was pleasantly surprised.

Good luck with the avermedia

But definitely stick to media Center. The bundled apps are universally poor in comparison.

If it works with Vista, then it should work in Seven.

There are always exceptions, but the majority of devices work just fine.
