You know the board you are returning is also a very good board, maybe you just need to follow up on the BSOD or exchange it.

I looked at the thread about your BSOD and you are overclocked to 4.2 GHz - whether you did it or the board automatically did it (it shouldn't). The BSOD are likely because the overclock isn't stable because the BIOS settings aren't right. I can't help you there - that is something you have to work out on your own, but if you haven't sent the board back yet, you might try resetting the BIOS to its optimal default settings and verifying it isn't overclocked.

Ya cuz after i posted the settings of it being overclocked auto to 4.2 i recalled the turbo mode should of been 3.8 max of turbo mode and i never changed no settings so i think it was making system unstable cuz i ran some tests of my own to confirm and that seemed to be cause of the BSOD. I did get a BSOD though when i had all the turbo modes and speed ups off so im thinking maybe something still fishy with the board.

After manually adjusting turbo mode to just 4ghz and not picking High performance profile in EZ mode and with TPU switch on. Board hasnt BSOD yet and games arent crashing...so like u now im wondering if board was actually bad.

What gets me though is the z68 board i was looking at costed the same as the p67 but now the z68 went cheaper even though its newer so ugh im at a lost to which is actually better cuz ive been trying to get a BSOD to just make my choice of getting other easier but now that im trying to get a BSOD i aint no more lol...

Oh and ya i still got the board cuz ran into some issues printing off the UPS label and was planning on ordering new board and keeping this 1 till other came in and then sending back but now im wondering if maybe just exchange for same 1 or just keep this 1. Cuz my luck i would keep this 1 and cancel exchange and ill get the errors again but i would have to deal with Asus instead of newegg after the 30 days are up.

And the p67 download section just looks so confusing and 10 different bios like previous poster mentioned was kinda errr so ya im kinda debating really.

Ugh ya im kinda stuck between deciding between p67 and a z68. 1 guy said on a site the p67 is better OC and gaming for technical reasons i cant even remember and seemed to know his stuff so i think if i dont get a bluescreen by tomorrow night ( trying to get 1 to make sure its stable and justify return lol ) then i think ima cancel the RMA and ill be on the 3 year warranty from asus then, i just dont think i can get a refund from then in 3 years, just exchange for same model i believe but ya, any more input is welcome for sure.

Sry it's late and I'm just skimmed through this but from all the research i did when deciding on p67 or z68
P67 is geared more for oc. There is a h67 geared for graphics stuff but the z68 combines both and ad far a what board i got ROG Asus Maximus iv gene-z. It is a mATX form factor but has every function or the top of the line ROG boards other than it only has 2 pci slots where the others may have 4 but unless u plan to run more than 2 GPU it's not a prob
Also Asus ROG line is there enthusiast boards, great for oc

I have an i7 2700k at 4.6 ( went to 5.0 fine but I didn't see the need to keep it there )
Hyper 212 evo with dual fans and can still fill all 4 ram slots
I don't think I could have made a better choice I love this board
And it's not bad on price around $180. Though I got it for $150 when newegg had a sale goin on

Ya its like i posted on BSOD thread, if no bsod by tomorrow then that was def the issue for games and bsods which im sure it was i just wanna be 110% sure and if no problems by tomorrow, gonna just cancel the RMA and keep the P67 board for sure cuz i dont even have that weird Firefox hang/freeze no more which was really bugging me.

Ya another user posted a cooler for CPU and i believe it was the hyper 1 cuz i still have it up on newegg and gonna snag that bad boy tomorrow too.

On a site note if anyone can plz answer cuz i cant find anyone who can explain this lol. Ok so my GPU idled around 34-35. I OC it just a tad like maybe 20-25% increase and i also uped voltage 1 notch from 1.025 to 1.050 and got some pretty good FPS in crysis 2 and metro 2033 all maxed out on a gtx 570. Ever since i OC it though ( and im not complaining ) the idle is now 29-30C??? Why is it cooler since OC and it even runs cooler while in games cuz Crysis when i first did a OC was reaching 71-73 but now its 60-64 max.

Too note it was a pretty hot day outside too and i had AC on but not nearly as cold as i normally do cuz room was still warm and im getting this temps. Im no OC expert but just common knowledge would say that OC = hotter temps idle and gaming. Only thing my friend could say was that maybe the blah blah got broke in ( forgot what he said exactly ) but ya, any input on that lol?

2 possible things I can think of and again I haven't read this whole thread yet I just woke up but
If u just installed or set installed your CPU cooler maybe u had to much paste b4 and now u got the right amount
Or if u did the auto oc thing like most new mobo have it could have lowered the voltage

Sry on my last post I thought u were taking about CPU temps
For that on a GPU I could only guess but maybe the the fan is now running higher or did u add a case fan or have the case open
Could possibly be the paste on the gpu set in now after running it a few time but I don't know I never seen that happen

Ya its the gpu and thats what my friend had said that i forgot, he said that maybe the paste has set in/broke in basically. And i havent added nothing to case or changed anything since it was installed and fan speeds been same since i set up profile first day for it. Its just weird with voltage being higher and gpu OC i would just think it hotter and idle gaming lol, oh well, not complaining was just weird honestly.
