    Pretty sure my motherboard is shot. Best way to check it?


    I believe the Intel DG965RY motherboard is the problem as the PSU fan kicks for a second then shuts down. Nothing else seems to be working.

    I disconnected the 24 pin connector from the motherboard, shorted the off/on to turn the PSU on, then checked voltage on the Antec PSU. The fan now works & I seem to have all the proper voltages on the connector.

    Is there a for sure way of checking the motherboard? It's about 9 years old.

    If you have another motherboard, you could try taking out the old one and put in a new one.

    No, unfortunately, I don't. Figure it's got to be the MB but was hoping there was a simple check. 9 years old so the CPU is dated, too.
