    Laptop Purchase Query

    Hi everyone,

My friend is asking me to get him a laptop at a certain price point.

I've found two that adhere to his needs which are the following:

    Portability: 12' - 14'
    Performance factors
    *Browsing - Flash videos
    *Office - Excel, Powerpoint
*Light Gaming - Napoleon: Total War | HOME
**Branding - He specifically mentioned Dell. But I'm reluctant to agree or disagree at this point, having no experience in laptops.

Judging from the light gaming, it's not so light for these two. Any input on this guys? :)

IMO, you should go for Dell Inspiron M102z.
The one thing that will make a big difference is the 7200 RPM Hard Disk, this will give a pleasing performance for a non/light gamer.
Moreover, I have experienced that Dell services are in general swift and hassle free.
    Lenovo is the visual candy.

Thanks for the input mate. You are right, I didn't notice that until now. HDD read/write speeds are quite important for anybody.

Do you think that this APU can actually play the game my friend wants to play? Because, the RAM, for one thing, is on the minimum requirements. The APU however, is something I'm not sure can cope up with that game.

I am not sure it will run perfectly but I think your friend certainly be able to play the game at a lower graphic setting with a good fps.

AMD-E450 consist with radeon HD-6320 graphic core, which only gives you 80 shader cores for gaming. however the memory controller is pretty much decent. more than enough for regular work and some little photo editing and I can say that considering nowadays games, its enough for very light gaming.
this is really good and enough for general works and portability with decency of travel. but if you planing on playing nowadays games, I suggest you to go for higher spec. even if you think of playing COD5 at mid range graphics. what kinda games do you expecting to play?
