Another bad HDD? "device not ready"

    I have added the system spec to my profile. I didn't get the Disk Manager pic, but it shows the drive as recognized, but not initialized. When I go to the BIOS boot menu, the drive shows as an option. I just can't initialize it. I winder if by using a third party tool I could format it and start over? At t his point though, I don't want to go to the trouble if it won't do any good after it's all over. (If it doesn't see it now, will it see it then?)

    If you have the OS on the drive make sure you have made it Active, that will probably cure your problem.

    There is no OS on the drive, it was to be the secondary drive.
