Vantec All-In-1 USB 2.0 Internal Card Reader not recognized SD card
Hello, I recently had to RMA my OCZ Vertex2 SSD and replaced it with Intel 520 SSD. Got my system up and running just fine via a clean install, however one thing that I cannot solve (and don't recall how I solved it on the old system) relates to the subject card reader and recognition of SD cards.
Checked Device Manager, etc. everything seems fine. Have the latest BIOS for the ASUS Maximus IV rev 3 board, USB setting appear correct. If I insert an SD card into the reader at boot time, once I get into Windows I can double click on the icon and the contents of the SD show up just fine. The moment I remove it and insert it again, try to open it I get the "Please insert a disk into Removable Drive" message. I know I was able to find a solution to this before in the past, but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was. It is rather annoying to have to reboot or at lease log off and back on every time you want to read your SD or CF card.
A friend of mine suggested detaching the card reader from the board and reinstalling Windows - any other less painful ideas?
Thank you for your help and I appreciate your ideas and suggestions,
