    DVD Burn Process Failure

I have a problem with my DVD drive. When a DVD begins to burn I get an error, "Burn Process Failed". There is no firmware upgrade for my DVD player, what is the cause.

You've been here for almost 400 post and no system spec's, it's a little hard to diagnose a problem without them, need to know the make and model of the dvd drive maybe the laser went bad.

Rule out some possibilities, or options.

I have to assume either A) the OP is really stubborn or B) he's doing support and reflecting problems into this forum for the solutions.

I did a firmware update, the problem continues, the DVD can play DVD's but can't write ?

    TEAC DV-WS8S-RT 7.0D (Previously 7.0C)
    Preparting compilation
    Burn Process Started
    Closing Track
*Burn process failed (A write error occurred)*

Inferior quality media? Too fast of a write speed?

Depending on what software you use to decode and burn the DVD can cause this problem i.e I use ConvertXtoDVD and if you go straight to burn from decoding a .avi file it will give the exact error you have. I still use this software but instead I stop after the decode close the program then open it again and select "burn a project already converted" and the burn works fine after that - a bit of a pain but works for me.
