    Deskjet D2660

Has anyone tried out an HP Deskjet D2660 printer on Windows 7 yet? I've tried out a Lexmark Z600 and it won't work so far no matter what I try. I'm going to try out the HP today and see if it works, but as of now I don't know if it will or not.

The Lexmark printer says it isn't even supported with Vista (when I looked last) but it does provide a Vista driver. However that Vista driver seems totally hosed, because it tried to install files into a "\Program Files (x86) (x86)" folder (yes, those are two (x86) you are seeing!).

Just wondered if anyone has had any luck with the HP, or even that Lexmark printer. I tried all I could think of to get the Lexmark going but it looks like it just won't work.

HP drivers are good, check windows update for optional drivers, and you wont have anything to do except download and your away. This is the most likely senario, but to be on the safe side go here, and see if there are any vista drivers available - type in your model name - HP United States - Computers, Laptops, Servers, Printers and more . This because the w7 driver through windows update is the vista driver - they modified a lot of drivers, so they would install on vista, and fortunately if this applys to you they work on w7, hence, microsoft adapted them, so you would have to be unlucky ie to say if your machine is absolutely ancient and no driver.
