Turn on internal mic? | Samsung rv511 Win Home (p) 64 bit

Hi Guys -

Samsung wont help me because I'm based in the UK so I have to phone a premium line..Eh?

Anyway the short story, I brought a Samsung rv511 and upgraded the machine from xp to windows 7 64 bit a while ago but this seems to have deleted my internal mic

What I have done is

1: Gone into into control panel, sounds then playback to turn on the mic but its saying no audio device is installed so I can't just select it liek you normally would

2: I have a tool from samsung called update plus but this states everything is updated

3: I have gone into device manager but seen no option to turn on a mic

4: Downloaded driver detecive but it cant find my model rv511 for some strange reason

So I'm hoping that you guys might be able to help me out as no one else can?

I hope thats all you need?

If everthing was working before you changed from XP to Windows 7 it has to be driver related - instead of going the Samsung support route, find out exactly what sound card you have (Realtek High Definition Audio Device ?) in this model and go to the manufacturer's site instead for their driver as it just may be different and could solve your problem - just a suggestion....

SDamsung has 3 versions of rf511. I don't know which yours is, SO1, SO2 or SO3. Go to their website and pick your version, Click on the support link and see the drivers they have.

Also, I have a Samsung RF 711 and it comes with realteck sound drivers but the webcam and mic are drivers from the Cyberlink suite that comes with it. I have uninstalled most of the cyberlink sofeare but had to keep the cyberlink 'you cam' in order for the web cam to work. Yours may be similar for the mic.
