Disconnecting Pen Drive....LED Keeps Blinking....&....Late auto play

hi all,

i have two questions which i am clubbing in same thread.

1.- when i disconnect my pen drive i get a message "safe to remove ur hardware" but the led on my pen drive keeps flashing. in windows xp when i disconnect my pen drive the led completely stops.

so my question,
is my pen drive disconnected after i get the message of safe removal?

is it normal for the led lights to keep blinking even after the safe removal message?

now Question 2

2. When i insert my pen drive in my computer, it takes time for the auto play options to come on screen, as compared to inserting in win xp computer which is old pentium 4. infact i get fast auto play option in P4 compared to my win 7 i7 system.

is there anyway i can speed up the detection of my pen drive?

thanks and regards,

I have a pen drive and had been using for about 2 years in XP then about 1 year in Windows 7 - same situation as yours, light keeps flashing in Windows 7 after I get a message saying it is diconnected. It was annoying at first then I kept using it like this with no obvious sign of a problem for the drive which is happily still working fine.
