Intel pentium 4?

My pc has a intel pentium 4 in it and I JUST enabled Hyper threading
does ht help performance or no?
My specs are old I KNOW dont say so please!
Specs
Pentium 4 3GHZ
4gb ram
1tb hdd
everything else doesnt matter
so question is does ht help or no?

Yes; but for many tasks you won't know the difference.

It helps in multi-threaded applications, but it is not a substitute for more cores.

You will see a performance improvement in video applications - e.g. video encoding.
