Mouse clicks / "halfway" working mouse

Hi there.
I've been troubleshooting quite an odd situation since yesterday with no result.
I have a PC and had to reinstall Windows 7. After a fresh reinstall everything worked fine until my mouse started working odd. Here's what it does: after a while (2-3 minutes) no matter what i do on the pc (even if i watch the screen doing nothing) somehow the second click disables, clicks on the taskbar aren't active though i can open my computer or control panel i cannot click inside these windows. eg. if i open my computer i cannot access any drive with my mouse...can open control panel but cannot click on any setting. If i use keyboard everything works fine.
What i did: changed mouse, tried usb mouse, changed from power source to hard drive, nothing helped, updated BIOS...still nothing, i get the same result. The only thing i didn't change are the CPU and the motherboard. What on earth is going on? Any ideeas please?
Thanks alot.
Cheers.
