Pendrive not being detected - Please help

I had purchased a Transcend Jet Flash 700 USB 3.0 16 GB Pendrive from Flipkart in mid September 2011. The pendrive is not even a year old.

Yesterday I inserted my pendrive in a friend's laptop to transfer files of around 1.5GB. The pendrive had more than 10GB free space. 70-80% of the transfer was done but then his laptop's battery drained off and the laptop obviously got shut down. Since then, whenever I insert my pendrive in any device the blue light on it blinks for around 10 seconds and then the light turns off too. The pendrive is not detected.

I have tried reading the pendrive on my friend's laptop, on my laptop and my tablet too. On each device, the pendrive's light blinks for about 10 seconds but nothing happens.

Please help, is there any way by which I can fix it?

Do you get any error message?

Does the pendrive show up in Disk Management? If so a screenshot will be helpul to give a trageted solution hopefully.

That said, if you do not have any data that you may want to recover, you may try Jetflash Online recovery

Keep us posted. Good luck. :)

Well FunLover, here is how you return fun to your life:
PREPARE A UFD FOR USE (USB FLASH DRIVE)

    Run CMD.EXE as administrator

Type following commands and hit ENTER key after each command.
    DISKPART starts the DiskPart program
LIST DISK shows numeral assigned to disks
note the numeral assigned to your usb stick
The numeral 2 will be used in this example
    SELECT DISK 2
DETAIL DISK the info shown will confirm the correctness of your selection
CLEAN ALL the entire usb stick will be overwritten with zeros
This can take awhile if usb stick has large capacity.
Keep the faith-the DiskPart prompt will eventually return.
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY create a primary partition on the USB stick
    FORMAT FS=NTFS format the partition
ACTIVE the partition can contain operating system startup files
ASSIGN the next available letter is assigned to the USB stick
EXIT exit from the DISKPART program
EXIT exit from the command shell

    ===============================================
the clean all may take forever, but in this case, the clean all is a necessity.

No the pendrive does not show up in Disk Management. And I tried the Jetflash Online Recovery Program but even that fails to recognize the pendrive.

@karlsnooks: The pendrive is not detected at all and so no number is assigned to it.

One last try and I am done.:)

Have a look at this thread. USB flash drive SanDisc with files on it asking for format?

If it does not help, contact Transcend for a warranty replacement. (Flipkart will not help - for any returns should be within one month.)

I guess I'll need to contact Transcend and get a warranty replacement done. Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. :)
