So I had an issue with my Dell XPS L502X that required sending it to the Dell Repair Depot. The repair involved replacing the motherboard and the bottom chassis. When I received the laptop back there was an issue with the wireless and I decided to reformat my hard-drive (Windows 7 x64 bit). Following the reformating, all hardware seemed to operate nominally except for my two USB 3.0 ports. Neither port will recognize anything plugged in and the device manager still lists them as generic USB hubs.
I have reinstalled the Renesas USB 3.0 Host Controller driver
myself plenty of times as well as having a Dell technical support representative try to remote desktop to my computer for 3 hours with no success. I have tried to use the USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver Utility and it keeps mentioning that the "USB 3.0 Host Controller Not Found".
Is it possible that the driver that Dell is telling me to download is not the correct one, or another driver interfering with the USB 3.0 driver? Any help would be great as I occasionally reformat my hard-drive to keep speed up and get rid of any junk that I may have accrued. Thanks in advance.
