Wrong Boot Options in Boot Menu

Don't see a section that really fits this issue so I just posted in my best guess.

I got this new computer and at some point I went into the boot option to try and install my PC to it's factory settings but when I opened up the boot option it showed something like this but not exactly:

    1. MC43689SGDAL7
    2. MATSHITADVD-RAM

This is very random and unusual and I have found no fix and as you should know it should look something like this:

    1. CD/DVD Drive
    2. USB
    3. Hard Drive
    4. something else

Even in my Bios menu it shows the same thing and I cannot change it so I can't boot from a USB or CD, etc.

Does anyone know of a fix or an Idea on how I can fix this? Bios updating does nothing, new Hard Drive does nothing obviously, I don't really know any other options.

    Hello Zyromkiru .

Please include your motherboard related information in the system specs ... It would be easier to understand the situation.

I can't really get into my laptop to get into my motherboard...

I do however know I have an Asus A53TA-XE2

#1 is likely the HD but could be a flash stick if you had one plugged in at the time. I always google a string like that to find out what it is. But if those are the only listings then it would be your HD.
#2 is your DVD drive as you can tell by the string.

To choose DVD drive to boot use the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key, or set it first to boot in BIOS setup: How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD

Some BIOS will not show boot options unless they are plugged in or detected at the time.

If you want to reset your BIOS to defaults you would do it one of these ways: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS
