I will look into your link there, but in the mean time couple notes.

I rarely if ever turn off my PC but having said that would that be the same as put it in sleep mode and than turn off external HD vs turn off pc and turn off ext. HD?

As for leaving the ext. HD on all the time, it's a bit noisy for me and only use it once a week when Win7 does it's auto backup that I have scheduled.

    Thanks for the reply.

**update - I have already done what's in your link above in the past and it still wouldn't work. I believe it's as you said because of my chipset. Not sure if there is an option for my board or not.

    Hi Guys.

I need some advices regarding my external eSata drive. It runs at very low speed (50 MB/s) its only a 400 Mbit/s. As I know it should run at 3000 Mbit/s. Can someone help me with that...?

    Thanx a lot

PS: I have Asus P5Q3 Delux motherB with external eSata port.

    Hi sanssan,

It would be much better for you if you were to start a new thread with your issue.

First, this thread is 8 months old, and an entirely different issue.

More people will see your thread title and help you with your issue, than if they see a hotswap title.

Go to Hardware & Devices , click on the 'New Thread' button.
