no.i'll get it soon if i find.our comp stores suck..and how do i know what bios i have? Looks like its IBM BIOS..but not sure

ok.i changed the battery and tested.same thing.it's not the battery

Make sure that you removed the battery placed the cmos jumper to the reset position, hold down the power button, and have absolutly no power running to the motherboard.

The only other thing i can think of before assuming something like the power supply, cpu, ram or motherboard is shot, is to remove the cpu and put it back in again. but you would need liquid silver for that. they got that stuff at radio shack as do they have batteries as well.

no.i didnt hook up the ram.whats the point.the pc still turns on and off..theres no jumper near the battery..about the cpu.i dont want to that that.i dont think thats the problem.and have no experience in this.thanx for the suggestion though

page 25 tells you how to change the battery

page 31 tells you where the jumper is and how to do it

page 87 tells you what the beeps mean. it is the bios and may be corrupt in witch it is not worth fixing. you would just have to replace the board.

if you don't have one, you might have one on the back of your hard drive and/or dvd drive you can borrow.

i dont have a jumper.but i touched the pins with a screwdriver.same result.and about the beeps.seems like the beeps want to tell that theres no gr. card installed..power problem beep and gr. card are similar.should i install the card and test?

sure nothing hurts at this point.

I was under the assumption that you had 9 short beeps which is a bios issue. but if you have another thought, the more the merrier.

P.S. i would put the ram back in. refer to the instructions on which slots to insert them in if you don't have a full four sticks.
