Search forum for EVENT VIEWER that lists events when a USB flash/pen drive is plugged in (the EV msg relates to powering the device).

I don't think event viewer by default keeps track of those things

Are you trying to see if someone else has used a flash drive, or are you trying to erse the fact that you used a flash drive on a computer?

You would need to check the system registry to see whether the pen drive has been inserted and, by definition, used.

As one of our colleagues has pointed out, you can also run Belarc Advisor, which will show if the USB device has been used.

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

However, I am rather intrigued as to why you should want this information.

Is it a workplace computer or a home-based computer?

Do you know how many people have access to it and how many people actually use it?

More to to point, do you know who uses it?

You may download and use Nirsoft's freeware USBDeview View any installed/connected USB device on your system

Description
USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices that currently connected to your computer, as well as all USB devices that you previously used.
For each USB device, extended information is displayed: Device name/description, device type, serial number (for mass storage devices), the date/time that device was added, VendorID, ProductID, and more...
USBDeview also allows you to uninstall USB devices that you previously used, disconnect USB devices that are currently connected to your computer, as well as to disable and enable USB devices.
You can also use USBDeview on a remote computer, as long as you login to that computer with admin user.

Hope this helps.
