Problem with selecting options in BIOS

Hi, I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this but I've been having trouble with my new motherboard BioStar TZ68K+ . Whenever I access the BIOS, the selection keeps moving up as if the "up arrow" key on the keyboard was stuck. My keyboard is connected via purple PS2 in the back. I tried with a different keyboard, this time a USB connection, and still the same result. It seems to be happening only in the BIOS as it doesn't do any strange behaviour when I'm in Windows. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and cleared the CMOS using the jumper on the board.

Is there anyway to fix this or is it hardware problem?

    Thank you!

Because you have tried a different keyboard (and not just connected the same keyboard differently), and because you have upgraded the BIOS then that leads me to think that there is a defect in that motherboard.

The BIOS has an independent keyboard controller "driver" that is written into the instructions. If that instruction set is bad then there is nothing you can do.

I would contact BioStar immediately and see if they are aware of this problem so they can correct it in the next BIOS update.

    Just thought of this:
Try toggling the NUMLOCK key and see if it changes anything. Then try the F LOCK key.

I had exactly the same problem with my Biostar TZ68K+ motherboard. Trying to select an option would just bounce you back to the first item in the list. Also, and mouse movement would cause settings to change randomly. After reading TVeblen's responses, I thought that maybe my Microsoft Digital Pro Keyboard might be the problem. No change. Then I replaced my Microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000 with my older Logitech wired laser mouse, and magically, the BIOS problems went away. Could select any of the options and make changes if desired without having to hit the Enter key at exactly the right instant. What a relief! This is an older thread, but just maybe this info will save someone a major headache!
