Solved When will prices for HD go down?

Hello all,

Any thoughts when will the prices for hard disks will be slashed back to their original? This hardware is essential and looking at the size of S/W and games now a days, it is required to have good amount of space on the PC.

I heard somewhere that they will go down in the beginning of the second quarter 2012. But, I enquired today and the prices are the same.

Future trends are speculation, but I have seen evidence that prices are moving down from major US suppliers such as Newegg.

1 TB drives starting at about 90 dollars; the WD Caviar black is 120; The Samsung 103 SJ is 110. Those prices are 30 or 40 dollars lower than they were at the peak.

2 TB drives begin at about 120.

They are definitely falling, but we still have a ways to go to get to pre-flooding prices. I've seen "analysts" predict by the end of 2012 we will be back to normal, but that's all just a guess....sometimes not even an educated one.
