/Boot/BCD is corrupt and unreadable

/Boot/BCD is corrupt and unreadable

My PC was having some issues overheating so it kept shutting down literally 5 times a day. 2 days ago it was telling me there was a boot error. I tried running chkdsk with 0 errors to fix.

I went on the forums to see if there is any solution, the thing is there is... But it just wont work for me

File: \BOOT\BCD
Status: 0xc000000d
Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data

I tried these steps

BOOTREC /FIXMBR - said it was successful
BOOTREC /FIXBOOT - said it was successful
BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD - failed saying The file or directory C:\Boot\BCD is corrupt and unreadable please run Chkdsk utility

I also tried doing this which I believe is to copy a new boot into a seperate partition

Code:
diskpart

lis vol

( Look to see the drive letter for your main windows partition - if it is D then type as below, otherwise replace D with the letter diskpart gives for the main windows partition)

sel vol d

act

exi

bcdboot d:\windows /s d: (After this step it just says "Failure when attempting to copy boot files")

bootsect /nt60 all /mbr - Even though the previous step had failed I still moved on hoping it would work it tells me

"Target volumes will be updated with BOOTMGR compatible bootcode."

C: (\\?\Volume{f94edb37-a44c-19e1-8a1d-806ef6e6963})

   Successfully updated NTFS filesystem bootcode.

D: (\\?\Volume{f94edb37-a44c-19e1-8a1d-806ef6e6963})

   Successfully updated NTFS filesystem bootcode

\??\ PhysicalDrive0
   Successfully updated disk bootcode

Bootcode was successfully updated on all target volumes.
But the boot is still not working it still tells me that Boot/BCD is still corrupted and I should use chkdsk

I forgot to mention my system specs

1TB Western Digital HDD
AMD Athalon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
4GB DDR2 RAM
Radeon HD 5750

Awesome and thanks for the quick reply!

I have to set more partitions and such but heres hoping it will work!

Is it harmful (Since I've decided to format) is it alright if I was to format my 'System' partition could that possibly help?

Do NOT format your system partition. That will erase your bootloader.

Well... it worked!

It must have made a new bootloader when I formatted all the partitions

Absolutely and thank you for your quick reply!

I would have never really thought about it untill I saw I only had 2 partitions and one was system it occured that maybe if I just format the system partition maybe it would just re-write the bootloader.
