Promise Fasttrak 378 controller cannot start (code 10) Win7 64bit
First time poster here seeking advice.
I brought a Fasttrak 378 PCI card for additional sata drives in my PC and it's been nothing but head ache!
I'm using Windows 7 (64bit) on my Intel DP45SG Motherboard. The installation cd was broken on delivery of the card so I contacted the seller who sent me a link to XP drivers.
When they didn't work, I searched on line and found 64 bit drivers.
In device manager it now shows the card under "storage controllers" with the horrible yellow triangle.
Windows cannot find a better driver than the one installed and I cannot find one either.
It is showing Code 10 saying the device cannot start.
With my little knowledge, reading people talking about RAID etc, I went into the BIOS and saw my sata drives are set up as IDE. I tried to change it to RAID and the drives were not showing - so I've learned that doesn't work! :-)
Any help would be appreciated. I don't have much knowledge about PC's really, but I can install drivers and PCI cards etc. I can follow instructions pretty well too :-)
Thanks in advance.
