Help me pick a Motherboard and CPU

ok well my first build i have found out either the board or cpu are bad.. so i am just going to buy a brand new board and CPU.. better then used stuff...

i have searched and found these two boards, and wanted input on the two boards as witch is the better board for the money... i will mostly be using the computer for internet email and a few games nothing heavy graphic wise for games.. just poker games or pinball games..

Newegg.com - MSI H61M-P20 (G3) LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

    or

    Newegg.com - ASRock H61M-DGS LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Now for the Cpu will any cpu with the lga 1155 socket work for either of these boards??? or is there a certain cpu i need...

    thanks a bunch..

What is your budget for both parts combined---CPU and motherboard?

Do you already have DDR3 240 pin RAM?

I'd probably try to steer you to Intel, Gigabyte, Asus, or Asrock.

Are you OK with using on-processor graphics rather than a separate video card? Or do you already have a video card you plan on using?

I just looked through the CPU/motherboard combo deals at Newegg.

Here is the only one near your price range using an Intel processor. It is $180.

CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623I32100

Motherboard: Intel BOXDH61BEB3 LGA 1155 Intel H61 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

All the others use AMD processors. Nothing wrong with AMD, but I know almost nothing about AMD.

The above package includes Intel HD 2000 graphics built into the processor. It's what I use and is fine for all normal uses. You could of course use your separate video card if needed.

You're in Michigan, Micro Center has the i3-2100 for about $99.00, tax included.

ignatzatsonic and I were thinking along the same lines, in terms of the processor.

Whatever you choose, a very good deal can be had for about $200.00 or less.
