Hi Xgillman, Is your laptop overheating ? Heat problems can show themselves in many ways ,Have you tried a system restore ? System Restore or ran the system file checker? SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to see if you have any corrupted system files ?

It may be worth checking the temps in your system download this below and run as administrator:

Post the temperature for your cpu in your next reply.

Please also download memtest86 and burn to cd below and test your ram sticks individually do five passes and post any errors found.

I would hold off on a system restore just because they may put the removed viruses back on. Run the Systm File Checker and do as TheCyberMan recommended.
