Windows 7: HP Laserjet 2100 Printer for AP-Client

HP Laserjet 2100 Printer for AP-Client

Greetings, Have a very old HP Laser jet 2100 printer in great condition . It only has a LPT-1 (Parallel Port) no network adapter. I have a home LAN & am going to install the 2100 as a AP-Client if possible. I would like to use a RJ-45 Female to DB-25 Female Modular Adapter to be installed right where the LPT-1 cable goes (see pictures). Then I can just plug in a Cat5 cable in the 2100.

This way I can eliminate having an old machine with LPT-1 connection & use the 2100 as a AP-client (suppose to be much better than a print server configuration).

I understand that I might need a hardware device (like a 54Mbps Wireless G Access Point TEW-430APB...Trendnet ).

At the present I have a LinkSys WRT54GL router as well as a broadband modem. Need to know if I am on track or not? If anyone has knowledge about this and can give me advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance...Steve
