I have just switched from xp to windows 7, and everything is fine with the exception of one xp hard drive. I am using 3 USB hard drive docking stations and all of my other xp drives work fine in any of the docking stations. Unfortunately the one drive I don't have backed up has file I need on it. This drive is recognized and installed by windows 7 but when I try to open it I get an error message in a window labeled "location is not available" wit the message " N:\is not accessible. Access is denied".
In disk management the drive is reported as healthy and I can run check disk I have tried to change permissions but it is still not accessible. It must be a permissions problem, but I am not up to speed with windows 7 enough to know what I'm doing wrong.
