Windows 7 will not detect Turtle Beach Ear Force XL1 headset.

I have used a USB headset before, headphones and mic with the USB slot, and it worked fine, I just needed to plug it in, choose the headset in default audio devices and I was off. However with this headset, the Turtle Beach Ear Force XL1, it doesn't happen. This headset is new, and works for the Xbox perfectly, and I love it, but I'd also like to have it work for PC. Any ideas?
