I didn't realize an extension was that hard to find, but I'm not sure which. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS MS Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz Motherboard Asus P8Z77-V LK Memory G.SKILL Ares 8GB (2x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 22 inch LG Flatron W2240T Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech K360 (Wireless) Mouse Logitech M215 (Wireless) PSU Raidmax RX-630SS Case NZXT Crafted Series Tempest 410 Elite Cooling Air Cooled Hard Drives Mushkin Chronos 120GB SSD (OS), 1TB Seagate HDD (Data) Internet Speed 1.14 MB/s (9.6 mbps) |

Newegg seems to be a little lacking in the cable area. You'll find a few more at Amazon.
If your motherboard has an 8 pin, that simplifies your choice, as you won't need an extender with a splittable 4+4 male end. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number homegrown OS Windows 7 Pro X64 SP1 CPU Intel Core I7-3930k Motherboard Asus P9X79 Pro Memory 16 GB Gskill DDR3-2133 Graphics Card eVGA GTX680 Sound Card Creative X-Fi Titanium Monitor(s) Displays As PA246Q Screen Resolution 1920 X 1200 Keyboard cheap Logitech USB Mouse Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (old optical) USB PSU PCP&C Silencer 750 Crossfire Case Silverstone FT02 Cooling Noctua NH-D14 Hard Drives Corsair Force GT, 120 GB

I have two 4 pin connectors that go into the 8 pin. I'm assuming it's separated like that in case an matx board is used and you only need a 4 pin, but I'm not completely sure. That's one reason I was asking. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS MS Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz Motherboard Asus P8Z77-V LK Memory G.SKILL Ares 8GB (2x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 22 inch LG Flatron W2240T Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech K360 (Wireless) Mouse Logitech M215 (Wireless) PSU Raidmax RX-630SS Case NZXT Crafted Series Tempest 410 Elite Cooling Air Cooled Hard Drives Mushkin Chronos 120GB SSD (OS), 1TB Seagate HDD (Data) Internet Speed 1.14 MB/s (9.6 mbps) |

That's one reason I was asking. You are correct in the spit 4+4 cable. Some MB's have 8 pin and some 4 pin so the spit cable works for both. The 1st one on your list is WRONG, it is for a molex connector. The 2nd will work as it has the split connector and will work for 8 pin or 4 pin MB. This is good if you ever update your MB to one with only a 4pin connector.

I was a little confused by the description of the CB-4M-8F. It turns out that the description is correct, but Newegg displays the wrong picture. The right one is here: 1st PC Corp.
As Phone Man writes, you don't want one of those.
The CB-8M-8F is the right sort, and it's splittable.
The $2 shipping on that cable isn't too bad. Sometimes Newegg charges more for shipping small parts than for the part. And they won't reduce shipping on combined orders. (I know that's due to their multiple warehouses, widely scattered around the US, but it's still an annoyance.) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number homegrown OS Windows 7 Pro X64 SP1 CPU Intel Core I7-3930k Motherboard Asus P9X79 Pro Memory 16 GB Gskill DDR3-2133 Graphics Card eVGA GTX680 Sound Card Creative X-Fi Titanium Monitor(s) Displays As PA246Q Screen Resolution 1920 X 1200 Keyboard cheap Logitech USB Mouse Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (old optical) USB PSU PCP&C Silencer 750 Crossfire Case Silverstone FT02 Cooling Noctua NH-D14 Hard Drives Corsair Force GT, 120 GB

I wish the connectors were black. The cable sleeving matches what I have, but the connection parts don't. I'd like it to match, but that's all I see. Unless I look around somewhere else and possibly find something cheaper on shipping or regular price as well. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS MS Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz Motherboard Asus P8Z77-V LK Memory G.SKILL Ares 8GB (2x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 22 inch LG Flatron W2240T Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech K360 (Wireless) Mouse Logitech M215 (Wireless) PSU Raidmax RX-630SS Case NZXT Crafted Series Tempest 410 Elite Cooling Air Cooled Hard Drives Mushkin Chronos 120GB SSD (OS), 1TB Seagate HDD (Data) Internet Speed 1.14 MB/s (9.6 mbps) |

It has a 8 pin, 4 pin and also a 24 pin cable. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100016764%20600020238&IsNodeId=1&page=2&bop=And&CompareItemList=282 0|12-201-020^12-201-020-TS%2C12-201-022^12-201-022-TS
