I currently have 8 GB Patriot Sector 5 DDR3 1333 ram. Got 2x 4gb sticks.
While running Windows Update I kept getting various BSOD. I took one stick or RAM out and almost instantly got a BDOD so I put the stick back in and took the other out and was able to update everything just fine.
I put the "what I think is the bad stick" back in a diff slot and went to update the Catalyst Control Center for my AMD Radeon HD 5770 GPU and when it downloaded and I tried to install it kept saying Integrity Error and wouldn't install.
So I took the "what I think is the bad stick" back out and re-downloaded everything and it updated just fine.
So, without downloading Memtest86+ and burning it to a CD and running it overnight. Sounds like just a bad mem stick right?
I am running
ASUS M4A77TD Mobo
AMD Phenom II x4 B45
8GB Patriot Sector 5 1333 DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 5770 GPU
