Try connecting it to another computer and see if you can format it there.

Is it an external case you can somehow open to pull the drive out? Maybe the controller went bad, and the drive is just fine. You could do that and then connect it internally.

i tried to create a partition,and put it in offline,but i didn't its giving the error "the media is write protected"

Searching here and there, I found something, but as I have never tried it, I cannot say you how far it will work, but you may try it .... .

  • Click on start button > all programs > accessories > command prompt > right click on it, and run as administrator
  • type : diskpart, hit enter
  • type : list volume, hit enter
  • type : select volume __ (put the name of that write protected volume) hit enter
  • type : attributes volume clear readonly hit enter

Exit command prompt, and see if it is working now.

Just for general edification, please notice that name is only used in the case of a mounted volume.

                to receive the focus

    If 
no volume is specifiedthe select command lists the current volume with

You can specify the volume by numberdrive letter, or mounted folder
    path
On a basic diskselecting a volume also gives the corresponding
    partition focus
You can view the numbers of all volumes on the computer by
    using the 
list volume command.

this will not remove the password feature of the external disk, thank goodness.
