HP 1600 printouts at an offset angle

HP 1600 colour laserjet (connected via USB) has worked fine for years.
OS is Windows 7 ultimate w/4GB Ram, no pc issues, substantial free space on hdd.

For some reason, print pages are now offset, i.e. the entire content is at a slight angle. Even the internal reports generated by/from the printer are offset.

Any ideas, please, on how to realign the printed area to 90 degrees upright (curently approx 94 degrees)
