I have loaded 16GB of Corsair 1333 ram onto my system's P7P55D Rev 1.xx MB. I am running Windows 7 64 Bit OS. The OS sees the full load, but it will only use 8GB as ram. How do I effect the full 16GB of useful Ram? Bio's update? Is this a board limitation where a later variant such as the LE variant would help?

Your motherboard supports a max 16GB of memory. So you are good there.

Many thanks for the response. I followed the process delineated in your suggested tutorial.but it stills shows 8GB's although task manager shows 16384 installed and 8190 Available.
I wonder: I bought the three pack of 4 GB chips in a package from Corsair from Amazon and then the final 4 GB separately packaged but also Corsair from a sub vendor of Amazon. All were of the same type and spec. I put the chips in the receptacles A,B and D for the triparte buy and put the single in slot C. When I was running 6GB before, this was the suggested insertion pattern and it worked fine. Would that affect this configuration? I'll revisit the bios and ensure it hasn't alloted memory to the board video--as I am using a seperate video card--Radeon 5970 or close.
It appears that the system has somehow reserved the other half of the RAM memory. How would I find out where and rectify that so it's available to common use?

Type Resource Monitor in Start Search box, on Memory tab look at allotment chart.
Look also in BIOS setup for RAM allotment settings for hardware.
Welcome to Seven Forums trout32. When you changed the memory, you did not do anything with the CPU? This was a common issue on LGA 1156 if a pin was bent on the CPU. Does BIOS show 16GB? Can you post some screenshots of the CPU-Z memory tabs (Memory and SPD)?

Is your DIMM(ram)'s 1600Mhz? If so the P7P55D motherboard can only use one DIMM(ram)/channel, aka you got a blue and a black set of slots where you place your memory. Place 2 of them in the slots nearest to the CPU, should only say in your case 8GB, not 16GB (8GB usable).
I myself got the same Motherboard and had the same issue, guess I didn't read the manual of the motherboard close before investing in memory modules.
