If you have AMD's cool and quiet it will show the stock results at idle. Open CPUz and run something like Prime95 and see if you see the proper bios settings.
cool'n'quiet is disabled same as c1e support can't figure it out
Hello all I'm still having this problem I have the bios chip over it did occasionally work without getting the message but now if I go into bios on start up my oc settings are there I get the new CPU message an on boot up if I look in cpuz it shows the settings as factory but if I shut down an go into bios again its the same as before with my oc settings are still there totally confused by this
Oh plus now I'm getting a MSG saying my windows isnt genuine argh
When you say that CPUz is showing stock settings, are you running something like Prime95 or Intel Burn test?
No not running any tests before when in cpuz it shows up multiplier and clock settings to be the same as values entered in bios
Fruitbat, obviously I am not understanding. In the first post today I understood you to say that bios is overclocked and cpuz showed stock settings. This last post says cpuz shows the same settings you set in bios. Those are 2 different things. CPU Frequency = Base clock X multiplier. So, I don't understand. As far as the new CPU part goes, I am running out of suggestions. As TVeblen said on page 1, either your board has gone south or the problem is the bent CPU pin. I would guess it is possible that your board reading a new CPU and your Windows Validation could be the result of the same problem. If your board is reading a new cpu then perhaps Windows validation is reading a new cpu also. All of these problems could possibly be because the bent cpu pin is causing it to not read something or reading it wrong. Bear in mind, I am hazarding a wild guess there, but that is the only plausible explanation I can come up with at the moment.
Is the BIOS version of your board compatible with the processor you are using?
Deacon, if it is the board and processor listed in his specs, the answer is yes, they are compatible. Asus lists it on their site for that board. If he has bios above 0505
Yes everything's compatible it used to run with no problems but it's playing that I've watercooled it I've taken everything apart incase that was the issue but nothing
Sorry didn't make it clear it used to show the same settings but not any more
The pins are ok, is there anyway of checking the chip??
