    I've never encountered this problem. I had the good sense to make measurements before purchasing a SSD for installation in my laptop and my notebook.

    However, Fred Langa overlooked this fine point.

    The problem is, a lot of people don't realize this. Crucial, for example sells 7mm thick drives and 9.5mm thick ones. Apparently for this very reason.
