Hey guys. This is a HELP! Thread and yeah it's my first post/thread. I hate posting a HELP! Thread as my first but I can't figure this out and I need help so here goes.
I have an external harddrive it's a toshiba HDDR400EX03X and it will work on my computer which is a ASUS K52Jr-X2...however... When i try to connect it to one of the USB ports with CORD USB to mini USB. So you guys are thinking "get a new cord" right? Well...no. Because when I use the same cord on one of the other USB ports it works bangarang. So obviously that one USB drive isn't USB 3.0 right? Well again, no. When I use a different USB to mini USB on the same port it works bangarang again.
When I plug the ext in with the cord to the (1)USB the light comes on and stays solid. When I hold the ext to my ear I hear the drive TRY to start repeatedly but never get spinning. It just try's repeatedly.
To summarize:
ext+USB(1) connected with USB to mini USB piece=profit!
Ext+ USB (1) connected with USB to mini USB chord= fail
Ext+ USB (2 or 3) connected with USB to mini USB chord/regular USB to mini USB piece=profit!
So that proves the external, my USB ports, the USB to mini USB cord and the
USB to mini USB Piece are all functioning. However for some reason the ONE USB port refuses to work with the ONE chord.
I ask you guys WTF YO? I can't figure this out!
Again, sorry for first post HELP!-ing.
Thanks again in advance
