My hard disk drive is acting weird. Anytime I download a program, I lose space on it, normal, right? But the thing is, when I uninstall some programs I would get back my space, sometimes WAY more space than intended. But if I also uninstall some programs too, the disk space remains the same, doesn't give me space when it kind of should. I restarted my laptop, looked for empty files on those certain programs, all were gone like normal. Yet the disk space doesn't do anything.
I have 320 GB, the actual disk is 279 GB, and I have 224 GB remaining. I was experimenting with downloading Firefox, Aurora, and Nightly browsers all belonging to Mozilla, each were about 30 to 40 MB. I uninstalled all 3 and it's belongings, and after the files were empty, files were not even close to 1 GB.
My point is if I install a program which is like a few MB and the file sizes are the same way, I would lose 1 to 4 GB a day and gain them back randomly.
What is this problem and why is my HDD acting this way?
Thanks.
