Mouse Cursor moves to Upper Right Corner, won't come back.

Hi all. So, I've got a desktop running Windows 7 32bit, and a corded USB Dell optical mouse. This morning I booted up the computer, and after a short while the mouse cursor started staggering up to the upper right hand corner of the screen and would not come back down.

I tried plugging in a different optical mouse, and the same thing happened. I tried all the usb ports on the computer, no change. I tried updating the drivers and just uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse, no change. I did a system restore to yesterday, when it was working just fine. That actually seemed to work for a few minutes, then it started up again.

So right now I'm running a full system virus scan, but I was just wondering if anyone here had any ideas as to the cause. I haven't downloaded any software or changed any settings in the last few days.

Thanks!

What is your graphics card ? Have you very recently upgraded the graphics driver ?

if so, try a downgrade , it might be solved.

I've got an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250, and I did update the drivers about a week ago, but I haven't had any trouble up until this morning. Still, if the trouble persists, I'll certainly give it a try, thanks!

But, when I just popped over to the computer having the trouble, just to double-check the graphics card, I noticed that the mouse is suddenly working fine now...but I don't trust it. I'm going to let the virus scan finish and see what happens.

Do it, but hopefully it seems to be a graphics related issue.

Well, the trouble started again during the virus scan, but then McAfee found and fixed a few infected files, and the whole thing seems to have cleared right up. I don't think I've ever had an actual virus before. Huh.

But, thanks for the advice, Arc!

Cursor moves to the bottom-right
Hi everyone! I downloaded version 7100 a few weeks ago. I love this operating system and would like to stick with it, but I can't fix the cursor problem no matter what I do. It periodically moves to the right bottom of the screen on it's own. Here are the things I've tried so far: -...
