Windows 7: Mouse Issue while playing games and/or Flash

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Mouse Issue while playing games and/or Flash

When I launch certain games, for example; Lord of the Rings Online, Family Guy Online, as well as certain Flash based games, my mouse just works on one side of the screen, it won't let me access anything on, say, the right side. I have tried to update the drivers, uninstall Intellipoint and use the default driver, tried a new mouse, tried different USB ports. So far no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It's running a Vista upgraded Windows 7 Professional 64bit. The mouse is a plain Microsoft mouse, the computer was a gift and the previous owner had none of these issues, and they played several of the same games.
