Keyboard won't let me sign in.

Every so often, at least once a week it seems, my keyboard won't load, keeping me from signing in. So far, I've had to reboot it, sometimes twice, to reset the service or whatever is suppose to load. Has anyone had this, and if so how did you fix it? I don't receive any error message, it just simply doesn't type.

    thanks for any help

i used to use a wirless keyboard and it would happen a few times, i swapped back to a wired keyboard and its been fine since.
i used to have to reboot also, nothing else would do it as no F keys could be pressed to get into any pre boot settings
are you using a wired or wireless keyboard?
