    W7 x32 USB crash on an old laptop


    Hello people! I been using W7 for a while on me desktop PC and I have 2 say that is amazing =)
    Now...I have an old laptop where I managed to installed it(it took long time) but when something is plugged to the USBs crashes, W7 is completly frozen.(I know the specs from Microsoft are no enough in part but still working)
    The rest of the system works like a charm.
    Drivers problem maybe?

    Specs.

    Packard Bell IGO 3000 Series
    Pentium 4 - 1.8 GHZ
    768 RAM
    20 GB HD IDE
    128 MB Integrated Video Card
    BIOS not updated to the latest one current is 2002 latest is from 2003(some error on windows not letting me to copy the BIOS onto a Floppy)

    Have you tried to update the chipset drivers on your laptop?

    You are not alone with this problem. I am having the same problem as well (though it hasn't effected me in the last 2 days..).

    Inserting any USB object, causes Windows to freeze up.

    in my case is constant, updat chipset driver? there are no official drivers for it as far i know
